Tommy’s Burger Stop: No Frills, Just Flavor in Anchorage, Alaska

Anchorage might be known for moose sightings and majestic views, but let me put you on to something just as wild—Tommy’s Burger Stop. Tucked away in a no-frills space, this joint serves up burgers that are humble in appearance but bold in flavor. Of course, I had to see what the hype was about.

I went with their Burger Stop Cheeseburger—a 4oz smashed patty seasoned with just the right hit of Cajun spice. Nothing over-the-top. Just lettuce, tomato, onion (LTO) and a little mayo swipe, but whew—my goodness. It was that classic, greasy-in-the-best-way kind of burger that hits you with flavor on the first bite and has you thinking about the second before you’re even halfway done.

Now let’s talk fries. I ordered a large basket, and baby, they did not come to play. The real kicker? Their signature sauces—each with its own spicy twist. If you know me, you know spice and I have a love-hate relationship. I was uncomfortable, sweating, fanning myself—but still dipping every fry like I had something to prove.
Spicy or not, this whole experience?

If you’re in Anchorage and craving a burger that brings the heat without the gimmicks—Tommy’s is your stop.
