The Great Patty Debate: Smash vs. Stacked

I’ll admit it — I’ve become a patty snob.


I grew up on thick, juicy 8oz burgers — the kind that demanded two hands and a few napkins. They were the Sunday cookout classics, the “don’t rush me, I’m eating” kind of burgers.


But somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the smash.

That crispy edge. That caramelized bite. That perfect cheese melt. Suddenly, I’m team smash all the way — fast, flavorful, and fashionably messy.


Maybe it’s the same way my style has evolved — once all about statement pieces, now it’s about how everything fits together. The smash patty is like the perfect pair of jeans: simple, but when done right… it just hits different.
